[ARCHIVED] Upcoming Fall Classes at the Senior Center

Concord Senior Center

This fall, the Concord Senior Center will offer a variety of activities, classes and workshops for residents to participate in. From dance and performing arts, to enrichment, to health and fitness, there is something for everyone to enjoy, including old favorites and new additions.

A new class available is Back in Shape (Activity #110262), which focuses on how to protect your back as well as build functional strength and mobility. The class will be taught by Brandon Glass, a certified personal trainer and owner of the Contra Costa Fitness, who is experienced with many different spinal pathologies. While the class is not intended to treat back pain, Glass will teach participants how to improve overall strength, mobility and decrease pain.

The Concord Senior Center is also offering Detoxify, Hydrate, Rejuvenate (Activity #110287), a workshop that teaches healthy nutrition, lifestyle and habits to help reverse chronic issues and attain optimal wellness. Instructor and cancer survivor Leni Pratte will teach participants how to incorporate cleansing and focus on nutrition and holistic practices as medicine to kick start your healing journey. After Pratte was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, she began a quest to study and incorporate holistic healing practices and modalities: whole food nutrition, yoga, meditation, juicing and blending.

Adults of all ages are welcome. To register for upcoming classes, visit www.ConcordReg.org. For more information, please call (925) 671-3320 or email concordsc@cityofconcord.org.
