Due to a family emergency, the ARPA Ad Hoc Committee has postponed making its nonprofit award recommendations. The item, which had been scheduled for the Dec. 13 Council meeting, will be rescheduled to a future Council meeting, anticipated to occur in January 2023.
Congress approved the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) to provide federal stimulus funds intended to address the ongoing economic recovery following substantial financial losses suffered during the pandemic.
The City of Concord received $27 million in one-time federal ARPA dollars; $8 million has been spent on pandemic recovery efforts. The City Council is in the process of allocating the remaining $19 million.
In September, the Council identified the funding categories, dollar allocations to spending categories, and the process for allocating funds within each spending category.
