At its March 22 meeting, the Concord City Council announced an opening on Concord's Design Review Board, and the City is now seeking a design professional to fill an unscheduled vacancy on for a term ending February 28, 2025.
The Design Review Board is composed of five members: three design professionals may be nonresidents of Concord, e.g., architects, landscape architects, urban designers, building designers, at least one of whom shall be a professional licensed architect, and one public member, each serving a four-year term, and one member of the city Planning Commission. The public member shall be a resident of Concord with previous experience or training in design concepts.
Examples of board duties include: reviewing the design of each improvement for which a building permit, certificate, or other approval is required, and any matter referred to the Board by the City Council, Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator, or Planning Manager, and/or staff. The Design Review Board meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
The City's Conflict of Interest Code requires Design Review Board members to disclose interests in investments, real property, and income derived within the City of Concord or from sources doing business within the City of Concord.
Applications are due to the City Clerk by Friday, April 22, 2022, at 5 p.m.
