At its Feb. 1, 2022 meeting, the Concord City Council announced an opening on Concord's Design Review Board, and the City is now seeking a design professional to fill an unscheduled vacancy for a term ending Feb. 28, 2025.
The Design Review Board is composed of five members: three design professionals who may be nonresidents of Concord, e.g., architects, landscape architects, urban designers, building designers, at least one of whom shall be a professional licensed architect; one public member with experience or training in design concepts; and one member of the City’s Planning Commission. The public member shall be a resident of Concord.
Example of board duties include: reviewing the design of each improvement for which a building permit, certificate, or other approval is required, and any matter referred to the Board by the City Council, Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator, or Planning Manager, and/or staff. The Design Review Board meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
The City's Conflict of Interest Code requires Design Review Board members to disclose interests in investments, real property, and income derived within the City of Concord or from sources doing business within the City of Concord.
Applications are due to the City Clerk by Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.
