[ARCHIVED] Stay-Home Order, Curfew Issued for Purple Tier

graphic announcing stay at home order

In light of an unprecedented, rapid rise in COVID-19 cases across California, Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health have announced a limited Stay at Home Order requiring generally that non-essential work, movement and gatherings stop between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in counties in the purple tier, including Contra Costa County.

The order will take effect at 10 p.m. Saturday, November 21 and remain in effect until 5 a.m. December 21.

This limited Stay at Home Order is designed to reduce opportunities for disease transmission. COVID-19 case rates increased by approximately 50 percent in California during the first week of November.

Please continue to do your part to reduce the spread of COVID-19: wear a face covering, keep six-feet of distance between yourself and people who live outside of your household, wash your hands, and stay home if you feel ill.
