[ARCHIVED] Permanent Ballot Box at City Hall

ballot box at city hall - version 2

Just in time for the 2020 general election, the City of Concord received its very own permanent ballot box, located at Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive between Salvio and Willow Pass. The box will be unlocked on October 5, and voters are welcome to drop their signed, mail-in (absentee) ballot in the box any time between Oct. 5 and Nov. 3. No postage is necessary. It will be closed at 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. Beginning on Oct. 5, two county elections employees will visit the box daily to collect the ballots, which are sealed in secure containers during transport.

Concord’s ballot box is one of 37 permanent boxes located throughout Contra Costa. To reduce the possible spread of COVID-19, all registered voters will receive a mail-in ballot this year, and voters are encouraged to return it through one of these ballot boxes or by mail -- no postage necessary. If they are sent by USPS mail, they must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received within 17 days of the election (i.e. by November 20).
