"Access to Recreation" provides accommodation to recreational classes and programs for people with disabilities (developmental, physical, ADD/ADHD, mental, etc.). Programs are designed for people 18 years of age or older.
It is our goal to ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to our programs and that the experience is successful and meaningful.
Bowling takes place year-round at the Clayton Valley Bowling Alley. This program is scheduled on Tuesdays at 3:30 in a 12-week course. There is an end-of-the-year ceremony hosted for all participants in the bowling program, to celebrate accomplishments and enjoy social time with friends from the program.
You can view the next set of classes and costs by visiting our Concord Registration website and searching for "bowl".
Each city will be hosting an Inclusive Community Dance event that is open to all adults 18+ with disabilities. Please call or visit the corresponding site to confirm details or information about the dance events.
The City of Concord's Recreation Services Department, in partnership with the City of Pleasant Hill, City of Martinez, and City of Walnut Creek, hosts dance events specifically for adults with disabilities (18+ years).
Admission: $8 cash payable at the door (caregivers free).
NOTE: Walnut Creek has CANCELLED their dance event scheduled on July 21, 2023.
If you or someone you know is interested in contributing to a program or would like to participate in a program and has questions, please call 925-671-3017.
