Budget and Fiscal Stability
The City of Concord – like many other California cities – is experiencing financial challenges.
To meet the community’s needs during the Great Recession, Concord focused on preserving essential services, which meant less for our roads and parks.
Although the economy has rebounded, construction costs have increased drastically, which undercuts our ability to catch up on maintenance investments. Yet, we remain committed to reflecting your priorities in our budget decision-making so our local quality of life is maintained.
In the fall of 2019, City staff held several community meetings to discuss what the City has done to address its immediate budget challenges and what we can do to keep Concord a great place to live, work and play. Watch the video of the October 10 meeting by clicking on the image.
We want to hear from you – how do you think the City should address closing the budget gap? Your input will help us prioritize and plan for our tomorrow.
Please join the conversation. There will be several opportunities to engage in this dialogue online and in person. If you’d like to receive a direct e-mail notification on these opportunities, please sign up for e-alerts.
Residents can submit comments, suggestions and service priorities any time through this Community Feedback form.
