Youth and Teen Campers

A week at Camp Concord offers a full day of activities designed to give campers a true outdoor experience. Youth campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities such as archery, arts & crafts, hiking, environmental games, swimming, and camp fires.

Basketball Skills Camp

Camp Concord's Basketball Skills Camp is not your average Basketball camp. Our program is a unique and exciting blend of basketball instruction, healthy competition, team building, mentoring, and traditional outdoor camping activities.

A typical day at camp will begin with breakfast in our Dining Hall, followed by basketball instruction and team competition. Campers will be placed in groups of similar ages and abilities, with instruction focused on the development of fundamental basketball skills.

Pre-Teen Camp

One-week sessions from June 26 to July 31, 2010
(Ages 11 to 14 or entering 6th-8th grades)
Responding to parent and camper requests for a new camp experience, Camp Concord is pleased to offer a week-long camp experience for middle school aged campers. This camp program will capture all the traditional fun of our youth camp with the addition of some age-appropriate Teen Camp Activities. Interactive workshops will focus on increasing personal responsibility and accountability, building positive self-esteem and healthy relationships and decision making skills. All of this while having fun and exploring the great outdoors.

Leader In Training (LIT) Program

LITSession 1: June 26-July 10, 2010
Session 2: July 17-July 31, 2010
(Ages 14 & 15 or entering 9th-10th grade)

This program is geared for teens who love camp and want to spend two full weeks experiencing traditional camp activities while developing and improving their leadership skills. Participants will attend interactive workshops with peers and supportive staff in addition to venturing off-site for a one or two-night camping adventure. LITs will also take responsibility to develop and organize some camp activities. And the biggest responsibility LITs will have is being placed with a cabin of younger campers for 24 hours assisting counselors and putting their new leadership skills to work.

Counselor In Training (CIT) Program

WorkshopSession 1: June 26-July 10

(Ages 15 – 17, entering 11th-12th grade)

Colleges, work environments, clubs and social groups require effective leadership to succeed. Our CIT program is designed to provide valuable experience for mature teens. Through interactive trainings, open discussions, and hands-on experience CITs will have the opportunity to learn about being a camp counselor. These experiences will include a week of interactive workshops dealing with risk management, leading games, conflict management, child behavior, professionalism, etc. CITs will take part in a two night off-site camping adventure and will be placed with a cabin group under the supervision of a Counselor and the Youth Camp Coordinator to put their new skills into action. CITs serve as role model, help mentor campers, and lead basic camp activities.

Camp "doSOMEthing"

doSOMEthingJuly 10-July 17, 2010
Ages 13-17 (entering 8-11th grade)

For the past 5 years, the City of Concord has offered the "do SOMEthing" program as a 5 week half-day program which always culminated in a three day, two night stay at Camp Concord. This year, we are taking the program to new heights and offering a special week long Camp "doSOMEthing" program at Camp Concord.

Camp "doSOMEthing" participants will board the bus for Camp Concord on Saturday, July 10 for a week-long service learning camp experience. Activities throughout the week will include many of our traditional camp activities including white water rafting, campfires, archery and arts and crafts with a special focus on leadership, team building and turning volunteer work into building blocks for future opportunities. Volunteer activities throughout the week may include building activity areas in camp, helping the US Forest Service, Tahoe beach clean up and assisting other local businesses. This isn't your regular summer camp, it is a special summer experience!

Family Camp is an experience that allows parents and children to play together in a fun and supportive environment while mingling with other families in the heart of the Sierra Mountains. This program offers an affordable Lake Tahoe getaway for the entire family and is the perfect setting for a relaxing and/or adventurous vacation.

Family CampFamilies are accommodated in one of our 18 rustic cabins with convenient access to restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, and the main lodge. All cabins have electricity and will sleep 5 to eight individuals. Families provide their own bedding and pillows, and limited wheelchair accessibility is available.

Aside from traditional camp activities, families have complete use of our Green Room Lounge offering a quiet escape for reading and games on cozy couches. A big screen TV/VCR is also available for kids' movies. In the evenings, Camp Concord Staff supply affordable babysitting for parents who want to explore the South Lake Tahoe night life or escape for a quiet evening alone. For the kids, everyday, staff construct specialized activities for children age 4 to 12 during Kid's Hour.

Family Camp Labor Day Weekend: September 3-6, 2010

This summer we are once again offering a 'Family Camp Labor Day Weekend', running from Friday, September 3, until Monday, September 6. What a great opportunity to finish the summer out with a final summer weekend bash at camp. On this weekend, we will squeeze in all the great things of camp. Such as BBQ and breakfast on the beach, family camp fire, volley ball, crawdad fishing, happy hour, kids' hours plus much more. You will be able to sign up for the weekend by contacting the Camp Concord registration department. We will take registrations on a first come first served basis for this weekend.

50 & Better Camp

According to George Bernard Shaw "Youth is wasted on the young", but we feel a great Camp experience doesn't have to be!

Camp Concord is the perfect setting for a relaxing and/or adventurous vacation - your choice! Highlights of this camp experience can include activities from hiking, canoeing, campfires, volleyball, crafts, bingo, happy hours and more. Optional no-host activates may include a hot air balloon ride, visit to hot spring, horseback riding, and casino outings.

Meals and Accommodations
Three meals a day are included in the registration fee and will be served in the dining hall (unless otherwise noted) featuring hearty entrees, fresh fruit and salads. Entrees may include tri-tip steak, pasta, BBQ ribs, baked chicken or a fabulous beach luau.

Our rustic cabins have electricity and convenient access to restrooms, hot showers and the main lodge. You provide your own bed linens or sleeping bag. Please include the names of friends you want to bunk with at time of registration. Single cabins are not available. If you choose not to designate bunk mates, you will be assigned bunk mates by gender. A Registered Nurse is on duty 24 hours a day to address first aid needs.
