Downtown project replaces aging sewer lines

A major sewer improvement project has started in the downtown Concord area near Todos Santos Plaza. The good news is that much of the work will take place at night. Sewers in these areas are over 70 years old and need to be replaced.

Streets impacted with night work include Salvio Street (between Galindo and Grant streets), Mt. Diablo Street (between Salvio Street and Concord Boulevard), and Willow Pass Road, (between Colfax and East streets).

Streets that will see work during the day include Colfax Street (between Bonifacio Street and Clayton Road), Concord Boulevard (between Grant and East streets) and Clayton Road (between Grant and East streets).

The project will also include installation of fiber optic conduits, minor concrete improvements, and street resurfacing. Detours will be implemented on the streets during construction. Night work in downtown will continue through mid-June, while the project is schedule to conclude at the end of October.
