Concord Library serves summer meals to keep kids healthy

The Concord Library, located at 2900 Salvio St., serves free summer lunches to children 18 years and younger on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 1:30 p.m. No documentation or enrollment is required and all meals meet the USDA nutrition guidelines.

The Lunch at the Library program is an effort to combat hunger and prevent a nutrition gap during the summer months for children. The program has been very successful and includes other free activities such as board games, arts and crafts, musical performances, movies, and more.

For more information, contact the library staff at (925) 646-5455.

The lunch program is also offered at many schools during the summer. For dates, times and locations, visit https://www.summermeals.org/.
