Residents invited to weigh in on Concord City Manager selection
The Concord City Council invites residents and business owners to participate in an online survey as part of the process for selecting Concord’s next city manager.
City Council members would like to hear from the public over the next two weeks about the skills, background and attributes that they should look for in the new city manager. Data from the survey will be used to develop questions used in the screening and selection process.
The survey will be available on the city’s Web site from March 3 through 14. To access the survey, visit www.cityofconcord.org and select ‘City Manager Online Survey’ from the Home Page text box or from Quick Links.
Residents who do not have Internet access at home may complete the survey from one of the free computers in the Concord Library. Paper copies will also be available at Civic Center in the City Managers office, 1950 Parkside Dr., Wing A.
Concord has a City Council-City Manager form of government. Residents elect city council members to be the governing body of the city. The city council sets policy, and hires the city manager to implement those policies and to manage the daily operation of the city.
The selection process for the City Manager is expected to take several months with the selection to take place sometime in June.
