The City of Concord’s Chief Building Official, Ryan Pursley, released a video message wishing residents and customers good health and safety during these uncertain times. “The City is striving to keep you and our employees safe, while continuing to deliver services,” Pursley said.
During this time when the COVID-19 emergency has presented many challenges, it has also presented some new opportunities. Pursley went on to announce that the City’s Virtual Permit Center is up and running, and staff are now accepting and processing applications for all permit types electronically.
The newly launched online permitting tool, Permit Pal, provides 24/7 access to information on zoning, permits, business licenses and fees. This toolbox of new, online services not only helps the City continue to operate during the County Health Department’s shelter-in-place order while our physical Permit Center office is closed, but will make it easier for customers to get information and to obtain permits in the future.
City Inspectors also continue to perform inspection services for those types allowed under the County Health Order.
